CHALLENGE

Consensus has developed an application for vendors and clients to use during meetings, events or conferences to help making these meetings more interactive and engaging for the participants. Based on Consensus existing knowledge about their users and products I provided a holistic UX review of the platform. The main challenge was to ensure a complete, aligned and united frontend of all features for their participants. The second priority of the case was the Content Management System for their own employees, who facilitates the platform during conferences.

UX REVIEW

The meeting/conference application is centered around two users: The attendees and the facilitators of the platform. In order to gain a holistic overview of the platform, it was important to facilitate a UX expert review of both the user-frontend and the CMS to see how they are linked together and to explore possible usability issues. With a list of challenges being discovered during this review, I set out to prioritize all tasks in collaboration with a project manager (a core facilitator-user), in order to quickly understand core functionalities and what is used more frequently than others.

IDEATION & CONCEPT

Wireframes and mockups were created (in Sketch) in order to visualize and conceptualize new functionalities, minor tweaks or new design of existing features. This way we could share feedback internally and strategically wait with the handover to developers until the UX and UI were final. However, as with all agile processes, we learn along the way, and therefore we ensured a close collaboration between UX, UI and development so questions, errors etc. were fixed right away.
